Considering the significant cultural heritage in the central part of the city, the project follows these main principles:

1. The cultural heritage is a main resource for development of the territory/area.

2. Work towards compositional consolidation and complete exposition of this resource

3. Work towards esthetic dialog between the different in scale and character elements.

4. Improving the mobility in the environment

5. Creating aesthetical vital environment in the city center

6. Working towards modern infrastructure

Main goal is to achieve a spatial and esthetic union in the cityscape of Sevlievo. It is achieved by:

– Compositional center of the square is the historic symbol of Sevlievo – The Freedom monument. It’s socialized and exhibited in the background of the free from traffic pedestrian area.

– The entire square is organized as a linear composition – “green carpet”, linear gardens with different flower arrangements to surprise and delight the citizens and visitors of the city.

– The composition structure “green carpet” covers the whole territory stated in the competition’s brief and it balances the different elements in scale and structure.

– The “green carpet” structure also guarantees complete development and vitality to every system, instead of cars it attracts to the center children, citizen and visitors of Sevlievo.

– The square space is free from a function as a parking. The traffic is organized around the island parking space.

– In the area with one-way traffic as well as in other specified places, is organized possibility for short stay parking.

– Safe bicycle alleys are made parallel to the traffic.

– The square is consistent with the regulation for an accessible environment.

– This project keeps the structure of neighborhoods, street and does not lead to significant changes. The terrain borders are preserved.

– Regards the neglected privet yards of public buildings we suggest with the help of administrative measures to compel the owner to put fences and plan trees behind them.

– The linear structure of – “green carpet” guarantees the visual corridors towards the surrounding landscape.
